Skylar Weir, MS, RDN
Skylar is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who earned her Master of Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver and completed her dietetic internship at UC San Diego Health hospital systems.
Prior to becoming an RDN, Skylar graduated
from California Polytechnical State University at San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and worked as an engineer for just over four years.
Her own health journey and experience healing from chronic illness ignited her passion and curiosity for nutrition and healthcare.
During her time at UC San Diego Health, she received extensive training in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including critical, medical, and surgical intensive care, kidney and liver transplant, emergency medicine, diabetes management, chronic kidney disease, weight management, integrative nutrition, eating disorder treatment, and sports
nutrition.
While her clinical training was largely focused on hospital-based care or working with populations who already have chronic disease, such as those with diabetes, Skylar has always thought outside the box as a practitioner.
She recognizes the need for more collaborative healthcare that utilizes aspects of ancient wisdom, such as Acupuncture, to address the root of imbalances that exist in
the body.
